What is the market opportunity?: The three social media platforms covered in this book account for over 2.7 billion registered users - a number that may be closer to 3 billion by the book's publication. 278 million of Facebook's nearly 1.2 billion users are 55+ years old. 175 million of Twitter's nearly 650 million users are over 50. Instagram has the smallest older & wiser base with 48 million of their 800 million users being over 50. Instagram is the platform with the most growth since publication of the previous edition, jumping from 300 million to 800 million users in that time span.
