Kindred Spirits

Ellen is forty years old when she loses her first husband and two young daughters in an automobile accident. It is a horrific tragedy that forces her to redefine her identity.  She travels to Atlantic City, New Jersey, to escape pity from those who know her story.  While there, she meets private investigator, Kristopher Erickson.  After a whirlwind romance they get married.

 

Because of their marriage, Ellen is kidnapped and buried alive for over twelve hours. Kristopher, who cannot handle that he has endangered his wife, quickly has their marriage annulled while she is recuperating in the hospital.

 

Three years to the day of the death of her first husband, Ellen becomes engaged once again.  Although she knows she should be ecstatic, Ellen is worried. It is her third marriage after all. It isn’t that she doubts her new fiancé; it’s her fear of the unknown. Given her less-than-fairytale endings to her marriages, will Ellen be able to cope if tragedy strikes again and, if so, can she trust Kristopher to help?
