Born into a family who has preserved and practiced Chinese traditions for more than two decades, Chin appreciates the value of his customsuntil he meets the impetuous Marilyn and falls in love, much to the dismay of his familywho view his fianc as a foreign invader. Chin, who considers himself an open-minded, intelligent, and sophisticated man, has never had any luck with Chinese women. Although he is exceptionally happy with Marilyn, his mother is not. Still, Chin continues to date Marilyn, falling more in love by the day until he finally gathers enough courage to propose. Now as Marilyn and Chin prepare to adhere to the rites of a Chinese marriage, only time will tell if their mutual love is strong enough to overcome the obstacles in their path as their two cultures intertwine and shake up long-held traditions. Elements shares the poignant tale of a young couples journey as their love is tested amid cultural differences and his familys disapproval.
