One hour later, Chase cut through the back fence as he attempted to enter the garage through the rear. He crawled through, loving the looming darkness that provided him cover. From here he could see his other truck parked next to a row of other cars and trucks. The entrance to the lobby was in the forlorn distance. Chase stood in the darkness unmoving, watching the movement of unseen floaters in the garage. He was searching the interior of every car, looking for anyone who could be sitting idly. An imperceptible din strolled in and joined the expanding silence in a weird excerpt…and the cacophony was slowly becoming palpable. Chase felt uneasy for a moment.
