These stories are about a group of mostly older people who have had heart attacks or other heart problems. Their doctors have recommended that they attend a Cardiac exercise group on a regular schedule. The work is fiction. In many cases I have constructed one person out of a composite of others, plus fictional inventions. If I need any other excuse for having written this work, I appeal to Socrates. He is reputed to have said that the unexamined life is not worth living. These stories are set predominantly in the latter two thirds of the twentieth century.
