Poetry, like many writings, is inspirational. You can take a walk in the park or along the beach, and your mind becomes saturated with what you see around you, and that can inspire you to write a verse or two on how you feel about your surroundings. However, sometimes, you have to be realistic and tackle topics that have got nothing to do with how you feel. And that is to say that as a poet, you have the freedom to express your thoughts on any subject that comes to mind. It is that element of freedom that drives so many people to write poetry, and I can only count myself as one of such people, for freedom is the most majestic and natural commodity that you can see in the universe.
