The Land of Oz is in danger when a magic spell falls into the wrong hands in this classic children's novel by the author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Though Princess Ozma has ruled that no one but the Wizard of Oz and Glinda the Good may practice magic, a boy named Kiki Aru has discovered a powerful magical word— Pyrzqxgl—that only he knows how to pronounce. After transforming himself into a hawk to explore lands beyond Oz, his mischief soon wins him a villainous friend, Ruggedo the Nome, who plans to use Kiki's power to take over Oz as revenge for his exile. Out to gather provisions for Princess Ozma's birthday celebrations, Dorothy Gale and the Wizard—along with the Cowardly Lion and the Hungry Tiger—have no idea what dangers lie in store for them. And when Kiki transforms them all, will they be able to stop Ruggedo's devious plan?
