Dede is a baby elephant that is born into the circus. Dede is very curious to learn all about the circus. She is absolutely amazed of what the performers, including her mother, are able to do. Her mother, Massa, teaches her daughter, Dede, everything she knows about being in a circus. Massa, Dedes mother, explains that the elephants play an important role during the circus. Although the mother is performing in the circus, she would often describe to her baby about the beauty and joy of her life in Africa. The baby elephant closely watches her mothers every move while performing in the circus. After Massa informs Dede about the excitement of being in the circus, Dede hopes to one day entertain others in the circus, just like her mother.
