In the natural world pretty much all species are locked into a behavior pattern to find food, shelter, and propagate their kind. This can be done individually or collectively, such as in a hive of bees. They fulfil their inherent purpose, and seldom go to hockey games for entertainment and/or gratuitous violence. Homo sapiens is different. This species has largely figured out how to do all of the above, has supposedly civilized itself, risen above the food and shelter grind, and yet actually goes to hockey and football games for the sole purpose of wallowing therein to find gratuitous and violent fulfilment. What next? Is lifes purpose our roar in the crowd due to the writhing schmuck down on the ice from a puck in the groin?
