Women in Scrub

This is a series of stories about the men and women coming out of the nineteenth century and what a serious event it was. The stories are true, the names are fictitious, and the facts are spelled out as best so that the author can relate them to the reader. Though it is about women in the scrub, long days and hard work did not end at sundown for the women as for the men, there were still plenty of chores to do before the lady’s hair was wrapped and she could place her head upon her pillow for the night. Then her day started again at four-thirty in the morning to have breakfast on the table so that the men could get an early start on the day.
