Reflections

This collection of poetry is a thirty-year journey as an urban poet. Themes are trying to find love, losing love, and reconciling. Individual poems speak specifically to the experience of the empty nest, role reversals, separations, and adaptations to language and culture. “Swinglish” and made-up words appear throughout the work, along with chants and spells, which is why these poems have enjoyed popularity as performance poems. For every poet, there comes a time when a poet needs to assemble his/her own favorites for this kind of book, a reflection.
