The book is about a teenager named Kareem Koomeenie who lives in Staten Island. He’s known in his neighborhood for making the best Kool-Aid. His nickname was Kemiekoo. In the project neighborhoods, there’s always one person who can do things a lot of people can’t do as great. He was one of those kids. He was very popular, smart, and had many friends. After the death of his parents, he lives with his brother and sister-in-law in another neighborhood. He competes in a drink-making competition where things go horribly wrong. He passes away after someone poisons his drink. Years later, another kid by the name of Rahkeem Bolden—yes, kids, that’s me—is now the new up and coming Kemiekoo. He enters the competition that gets the original Kemiekoo’s ghost attention. What happens next? Just going to have to read the book.
