In a time marked by chaos in the government and elsewhere, there is widespread moral bankruptcy, corruption, threat of nuclear war, and the phenomenon of migration, creating political and social problems and provoking conflicts within and among nations. In such a situation, it might help to cite some appropriate authorities to frame the issues. An authority that comes to mind is the late Samuel Huntington, a renowned American political philosopher and author. Huntington has written many books, but a book relevant for this purpose—albeit controversial—is The Clash of Civilizations in which he discusses the phenomenon of migration in a global, historical context.
