40 Years of Agony

This book, 40 Years of Agony, is inspired by true events of the author, which takes you through the twist-and-turn journey of a man who devoted his whole life in search of freedom. At times, he had nothing to lose, and at times, he had to lose even his own life so as to take on extreme challenges. It reveals to you the incredible sufferings, tribulation, desperation, endless anxiety, and more that are beyond human endurance. But one man, alone, overcame all. Nothing could stop him. It also depicts cruelties of the Vietnam War that killed more than three million Vietnamese. Tragically, the war disabled lives in dire humiliation. They had no place to hide, and they were hated by their own loved ones for they became burdens, or calamities, to those who related to them. Not only war reduced cities to rubble, it also created human tragedy beyond comprehension. This book, 40 Years of Agony, certainly takes you to the killing field in Cambodia, the convoy of tears in Vietnam, and the Vietnamese boat people. According to UNHCR, more than a million Vietnamese escapees perished in the South China Sea, including his wife and child.
