Environmental science is a work written to achieve three important goals: explain the basic concepts of environmental science; understand the environmental problems we face based on scientific foundations and evaluate their possible solutions; and third, to inspire readers to make a difference in the way we treat the Earth, on which our lives and economies depend, and the way we treat ourselves and our descendants. To achieve this, environmental problems and their possible solutions based on sustainability, the integrating theme of this work, are analyzed.
